2) What kind of benefits can I expect from using a personal trainer? Of course, it depends on your goals and fitness program. But here are many of the typical benefits of using a personal trainer:

3) Where do you train? I train people at a private fitness center on the edge of downtown (no cost to join). I also can meet you at centrally located parks (weather permitting) or come to your home. (Extra charge for home or park training to cover drive time and fuel.) Back to Top
4) I'm not sure I can afford this. How much does it cost? If you pay as you go, one-hour sessions cost $60 if you train at the fitness center. Personal training sessions cost $55/hour if you buy a pack of 10 training sessions. And you'll get one free training at the end of your ten sessions. Please check with me directly on the cost of training at your home or park (will depend on your location). Back to Top
5) How often should I work out with a personal trainer? Obviously, the more you workout with a personal trainer, the more powerfully it affects your body and your psyche. But twice a week is a good starting place. Most people can afford this, and often start with two sessions a week and then back off to one session a week, with "assignments" for working out on your own.

6) How do we get started? What's the process? The first step is to call for a free consultation involving discussion of your specific goals, injuries, general health, time availability, likes and dislikes. The second step is to set up a time to meet so I can evaluate your current fitness levels through a series of strength, flexibility and endurance exercises. Those results serve as a baseline measure of your progress. Typically, most people get leaner, stronger and feel better. I'll also ask you to provide ongoing feedback about your program.so it can be modified as needed. Back to Top
7) Anything else I should know about personal training? Yes. A new study was just released in November 2005 that revealed that older folks who exercise experienced significantly less Alzheimer's than those who didn't exercise. The current thinking is that exercise literally helps the brain clean out plaque deposits that cause the symptoms associated with Alzheimers. So get your exercise regimen in place now, and it should help you as you get older. Back to Top
